MISSOULA — Missoula Sentinel stayed perfect in Western AA softball play and took down another crosstown rival on Wednesday afternoon. The Spartans won at Missoula Hellgate, 10-0.

Sentinel started the scoring on a walk with the bases loaded in the top of the first inning. The Spartans scored two in the opening frame, one more in the second, and three in the third to go up 6-0.

The game did go the distance, because Sentinel’s margin didn’t reach 10 until the last inning. In the seventh, Cassidy Schweitzer lined her second RBI single of the game to provide the final run.

Pitcher Shelby Dunwell got out of a jam in the first to provide a great start for the Spartans.

Sentinel will play two more Western AA conference contests on Thursday. The Spartans will try to sweep the season series with home games against Kalispell Flathead and Kalispell Glacier. Hellgate will play a makeup at home against Kalispell Flathead on April 29.
