GREAT FALLS — Defending Class AA state softball champion Great Falls High hosted a doubleheader with Billings Skyview and Billings Senior at the Great Falls Multi-Sports Complex on Friday.
In the first game with Skyview, it was a matchup between two teams with the best records in the entire AA, with the Falcons 8-1 going into the game and the Bison 7-0. Skyview look a 1-0 lead early in the first inning, but in the bottom of the first, a two-run home run from Great Falls High’s Annie Toon put the home team in front and the Bison never looked back from there. Great Falls High defeated Skyview 13-3 in five innings.
The Bison did not let up in the other game, either, easily taking care of Billings Senior 13-1 in five innings. Great Falls High is now 9-0 on the season and sits alone at the top of the Eastern AA with a 4-0 conference mark. The Bison will host Bozeman next for a doubleheader on April 27.
Skyview sits second in the Eastern AA at 9-2 overall, 6-1 conference. Senior, meanwhile, is sixth at 3-5 overall, 0-4 conference.
