BILLINGS — Kinzee Koch pitched a complete game, giving up just two runs and striking out seven, as Billings West beat crosstown softball rival Billings Senior, 4-2, Tuesday night at Central Park.

Koch allowed six hits and walked three but got a key strikeout to end the third inning with two runners in scoring position to keep a 2-1 lead. Halle Spring provided the insurance with a two-run home run in the top of the seventh inning.

West scored two runs in the top of the first against freshman Kennedy Venner, but Venner settled down to pitch six innings, allowing just the two runs on three hits while striking out six. Spring’s home run came off Jaida Ontiveros, who pitched the seventh.

Both teams return to action Friday. West hosts Bozeman at 4 p.m., while Senior travels to Great Falls to play a doubleheader against Great Falls CMR at noon and Great Falls High at 2 p.m.
