MISSOULA – The class AA softball teams from Billings got out to a great start to the season with a trip to the Garden City. Billings teams went 5-1 in three doubleheaders against the Missoula AA schools on Friday.

The closest contests took place at Missoula Sentinel. The Billings Senior Broncs hung on to win game one, 6-1. Sentinel responded with some drama, beating the Broncs 2-1 in the bottom of the seventh inning in game two, the only win of the day for Missoula.

The Billings West Golden Bears hammered Missoula Big Sky in two showdowns, beating the Eagles 20-0 and 21-1.

Billings Skyview had an equally impressive blowout to start their doubleheader versus Missoula Hellgate. The Falcons beat the Knights 25-2. Hellgate stayed close for most of game two, before Skyview grabbed another victory, 7-2.

Everyone trades opponents for more games on Saturday. Sentinel will host Skyview at 10:00 AM and West at 1:00 PM. Hellgate will host West followed by Senior at the same times. And Big Sky will battle Senior and then Skyview.
