HELENA — The Helena Capital girls and Helena High boys teams came away victorious on Saturday afternoon during a crosstown Western AA soccer doubleheader.

Capital goalie Rachel Kosena kept a clean sheet for the Bruins and senior co-captain Cassie Brisko netted two goals to give the Bruins the win over the rival Bengals. Brisko’s first goal came on a scrum at the net when Brisko somehow knocked the ball, and a defender, into the net from her backside. Brisko’s second goal came on a free-kick from outside the penalty box that found the top right corner of the net to give Capital a 2-0 lead late in the second half.

Capital improves to 2-6-1, while Helena falls to 2-4-3.

On the boys side, Ryan Quinn netted a pair of first-half goals for Helena Capital to give the Bruins a 2-0 lead at halftime. Helena had numerous scoring chances in the first half but was unable to capitalize.

However, the Bengals came out hot in the second half, netting three goals to get past the Bruins 3-2. With the win, the Bengals improve to 6-2-1. Helena Capital drops to 3-4-2.
