BILLINGS – Kolten Unrein kept his fourth clean sheet of the year, and Caleb Borgstrom netted a late goal to give Billings Senior a 2-0 win over crosstown rival Billings West Tuesday night at Daylis stadium, completing the season sweep of the Bears.

Senior took a 1-0 lead in the first half, but West controlled the action after the break. Unrein made several key saves to keep the Bears off the scoresheet before Borgstrom got behind the defense in the 77th minute, dribbled around the goalie and slotted home the insurance goal. Senior also beat West 2-0 in their first meeting on Aug. 28.

Senior improves to 4-1-2 on the season, while West falls to 5-4.

The girls played to a 1-1 draw in the first game of Tuesday’s double-header. Senior took a 1-0 lead midway through the first half on a Blair Stapleton goal, her sixth of the season. West answered in the second half when Heavyn Lowdog got her left foot onto a corner kick to tie it up.

West is now 4-2-3 on the season, good for second place in the Eastern AA behind undefeated Skyview. Senior sits in fourth at 3-2-2.
