Helena crosstown soccer ends in pair of draws

HELENA — The first Helena crosstown soccer matches of the season at Nelson Stadium ended in a pair of tie games on Tuesday.

On the boys side, the Bruins and Bengals ended in a 1-1 stalemate after goals from Capital’s Ryan Quinn in the first half and Helena’s Treven Maharg in the second.

For the girls game, Bruin goalkeeper Odessa Zentz and Bengal keeper Rachel Kosena earned their cleats by keeping clean sheets. Their game ended in a 0-0 tie.
