MISSOULA – A week full of crosstown soccer in the Garden City started with a back-and-forth draw and another dominating performance from the three-time defending state champion.

The boys from Missoula Hellgate remained unbeaten in the early 2018 season, picking up a third consecutive conference win, 4-1, over Missoula Sentinel. The Knights built a 3-1 first-half lead on the Spartans’ field, and Dane Becker finished off the scoring in the second half.

Earlier, the Sentinel and Hellgate girls played to a 2-2 draw. Neither team scored in the first half. Then both teams pushed across two goals in the second half to split the conference point.

The crosstown week continues when Missoula Big Sky hosts Sentinel on Thursday afternoon. Hellgate will host Big Sky on Saturday.
