HAVRE -- Lewistown's Caleb Myers and Sidney's Sarah Karanjai captured medalist honors at the Havre golf invitational on Thursday at Prairie Farms Golf Course. Six boys teams and five girls teams competed, with Karanjai leading Sidney to the girls team title. Havre was first in the boys team race.
Myers shot a 78 to defeat Havre's Caleb Chambliss by three strokes, as the Lewistown boys finished fourth overall. Jake Henderson joined Sidney's Matt Hansen and Havre's Caleb Spangler in shooting 85s in the invite.
Havre totaled 340 strokes between its top four golfers, with Tyrel Kjersem and Theron Peterson adding an 86 and 88, respectively, to join Chambliss and Spangler's scores.
Sidney's boys finished second, while Great Falls CMR was third.
Karanjai, two days removed from a runner-up finish at the Sidney triangular, bested teammate Emma Torgerson by seven strokes, carding an 89 to Torgerson's 96. Sidney ran away with the team title, totaling 395 strokes compared to Lewistown's 451. The Eagles were led by Allison Denton's 97, which tied Browning's Sequoia Butterfly.
Browning placed third in the team race.
