BUTTE — The Western C girls basketball divisional tournament continued Friday night with semifinal action at the Maroon Activities Center in Butte. Charlo and Arlee earned semifinal wins Friday to advance to Saturday’s championship game, which is set to tip off at 8 p.m.

Charlo 59, West Yellowstone 41

The first game up saw West Yellowstone, coming off its first divisional win in 20 years, and Charlo. It was a slow start for both teams as not a lot of offense was happening until Charlo got some momentum late in the first and the flood gates opened. Out of the half, it was all Vikings until the final horn. Charlo stifled any sort of West Yellowstone offense and controlled the pace for the rest of the game. Carlee Fryburger led the way for the Vikings with 12 points and four rebounds. Also contributing was Liev Smith with 11 points and eight rebounds, nearly a double-double for the sophomore, as Charlo ran away with it at the end for the 59-41 win.

The Wolverines were led by Kait Jackson’s 12 points on 3-of-6 shooting from 3-point land. Danna Ochoa chipped in eight points and eight rebounds to keep the Charlo lead to just eight heading into halftime.

Arlee 62, Manhattan Christian 38

The first quarter saw a lot of back-and-forth action between both teams, but the second quarter rolled around and Arlee started to force big turnovers leading to easy transition buckets and created opportunities for shots. The Scarlets took a 13-point halftime lead and never looked back, ballooning the margin to a final score of 62-38.

Arlee was led by Louetta Conko-Camel and Alyssia Vanderburg, who combined for 35 points and five rebounds. The Scarlets shot 35 percent from the field and 23 percent from 3-point land. Manhattan Christian was led by Kiersten Van Kirk with 12 points, and 6 rebounds. The Eagles shot 14 percent from the field, and 18 percent from beyond the arc.
