MISSOULA – On Friday evening, the Deer Lodge Wardens traveled to Missoula to take on the Missoula Loyola Breakers.
Right off the tip, the Wardens looked like the team in charge, building an early 12-5 lead. By the end of the first half, Deer Lodge stretched that lead even more, 30-14.
In the second half, the Breakers came out shooting with a 9-0 run to start the third quarter. Deer Lodge failed to make a field goal for the entire third quarter and both teams went into the final quarter tied at 33.
In the final quarter, both teams battled back and forth, but Deer Lodge took the win by way of free throws and a costly Loyola turnover with five seconds left.
