DEER LODGE – The Deer Lodge Wardens boys and girls basketball squads welcomed in the Manhattan Tigers  for a Class B matchup.

In the boys game, the first quarter was snail-pace slow with a score of 6-2 after one. Then the rest of the game, the Wardens found a spark on offense. After the switch had been turned, Judd Applegate, Greydon Nicholson, and Ozzie King all found their stroke from deep, which Manhattan had no answers for. Cache Douma and Jadon Pierce tried to shed some light for the Tigers, but the Wardens defended their home court with a 57-42 win.

On the girls side, the scoring started real early, as Ariah Carrier got hot early on for the Lady Tigers. Olleca and Madeline Severson also contributed in the transition game for Manhattan. The Wardens were led by good shooting from Mya Wirth. Kamryn Scully helped match the play in the transition department. After a couple close chances at the end by the Lady Wardens, it was the Lady Tigers holding on for slim win, 64-61.
