MISSOULA – Coming in at No. 9 on the list of KPAX top sports stories of 2018 is the Flint Creek Titans from the co-op between Drummond and Philipsburg. TheTitans went undefeated in 2017 and took home the 8-Man state title. In 2018 the Titans didn’t waiver in their quest for back-to-back championships. Flint Creek went a perfect 13-0 on its way to reaching the back-to-back title goal. We talked to the Titans back in October about what makes the program so successful.

“A lot of successes happen in the off-season. These kids put in a tremendous amount of work in the weight room. We go to a couple of football camps in the summer and we practice a few times a week in the summer, as well. It’s the work you put in in the off-season that really makes a difference,” said coach Mike Cutler.

“Our coaches do so much for us. Cutler and (assistant coach J.C. Holland) spend so much time watching film, we pretty much know everything the other teams are going to throw at us because of the time that they put in,” said senior running back Colby Manley.
