State football roundup: Billings West, Billings Central, Fairfield, Drummond-Philipsburg, Wibaux claim titles

Billings West won the Class AA state title Friday night, while Billings Central, Fairfield, Drummond-Philipsburg and Wibaux all claimed state championships on Saturday afternoon on football fields across Montana.

Billings Central defeated Hamilton 28-21 to win its first state title since 2012.

Fairfield beat Missoula Loyola 30-13 to capture its second title in four years, also winning in 2015.

Drummond-Philipsburg won its second consecutive 8-Man state title, dominating Great Falls Central 50-14 at Naranche Stadium in Butte.

Wibaux defeated Jordan 70-27 to win its first 6-Man state title and seventh state championship in program history.

On Friday night, Billings West held off a late charge by Kalispell Flathead, winning 20-14 for its first state title since 2005.
