Road win earns Missoula Loyola Class B title ticket

BIG TIMBER – Missoula Loyola scored the game’s final 21 points Saturday on the way to a 21-6 semifinal road win at Big Timber.

Big Timber scored early in the opening quarter after forcing Missoula Loyola to punt. Orry Carrocia took the Herders’ first play 81 yards for a touchdown, but the PAT was blocked.

Loyola answered for a Ryan Tirrell 14-yard touchdown with 6:12 left in the first quarter and led 7-6 at halftime.

Tirrell added a pair of third quarter rushing touchdowns from four and five yards widening the gap to 21-6. Loyola finished with 219 rushing yards. Big Timber produces 217.

The Rams also forced three turnovers to limit Big Timber’s high-powered offense to only one score. The Herders lost a fumble and were intercepted twice.

Missoula Loyola (11-1) will meet Fairfield (11-0) in a Class B championship rematch next Saturday. Big Timber closes the season 9-2.
