MISSOULA — Cooper Waters and Ryan Tirrell each scored three touchdowns as Missoula Loyola cruised to a 54-14 win over Three Forks in the first round of the Class B state football playoffs on Saturday.

Tirrell scored twice in the first quarter, getting the game’s first touchdown on an early 6-yard run. He would later add a 25-yard scoring run in the quarter, as Loyola built a quick 26-0 lead. Waters and Jeffry Twite also scored in the first.

Waters further blew the game open in the second quarter, catching two more touchdowns to give the Rams a 40-0 halftime lead. Tirrell would add a third-quarter touchdown before Three Forks finally got on the board in the fourth.

Loyola, which won the Western B, will next face Huntley Project. The Red Devils, the East’s No. 3 seed, defeated Malta, 30-6, on Saturday. Loyola topped Project 33-25 in the season opener for both teams back in August at Bobcat Stadium in Bozeman.
