WILSALL — Bridger made its playoff lives slightly easier by defeating Shields Valley 74-27 in 6-Man football action Friday night. The win gives the Scouts the 6-Man South’s No. 3 seed in the playoffs.

Bridger started fast and never looked back. Already leading 8-6, the Scouts pushed their advantage to 16-6 behind the ankle-breaking, open-field running of Colby Zentner. Zentner then took to the air to increase Bridger’s lead, finding Jake Mitzel to put the Scouts up 24-6.

Shields Valley tried to claw back in the first half. Quarterback Dylan Flatt found Jack Marshall for a touchdown pass to cut the deficit to 24-13, but that’s as close as Shields Valley would get. Bridger opened up a 40-13 halftime advantage en route to the blowout victory.

Bridger will travel to Richey-Lambert in the first round of the playoffs, while Shields Valley, the South’s No. 4 seed, will travel to top-ranked and unbeaten Wibaux.
