BUTTE — Butte Hall of Famer and Shrine Game legacy Bob Schulte passed away Thursday at the age of 89. ButteSports.com first reported Schulte’s passing, and MTN Sports confirmed with Schulte’s family.
Schulte was a player in the first Montana East-West Shrine Game in 1947 and was a standout athlete at Butte High.
This summer, the Shrine Game’s West All-Stars had the honor of meeting and speaking with Schulte as he told the young men to “always remember what you’re playing for.”
He will be missed throughout the state of Montana.
