Class AA roundup: Billings Senior keeps streak alive in thriller against Kalispell Glacier

BILLINGS – Twenty-seven.

That’s what Billings Senior’s win streak improved to on Friday night, after the Broncs moved downfield in less than 30 seconds to steal the lead from Kalispell Glacier.

The Wolfpack took the lead in the final minute, with Preston Blain scoring a one-yard touchdown to go ahead 26-21. Glacier missed a two-point attempt that would have given them a seven-point lead.

But Senior, calm as ever, moved quickly downfield, jumping in Glacier territory in a matter of seconds, before quarterback Matthew Plasterer threw an out pattern to junior receiver Oran Nash-Bergen, who saw his defender slip as he caught the ball, turned up and field and rumbled 20 yards to the end zone to put Senior ahead 27-26.

The Broncs also missed their two-point attempt but held off Glacier’s last-second effort to start the season 1-0. Senior hasn’t lost since the Class AA state championship game three seasons ago, a 35-23 defeat against Bozeman.
