GREAT FALLS – The festivities in preparation for the Montana East-West Shrine Game continued Thursday with a kids cheer camp held at the University of Providence.

East and West cheerleaders who will be cheering at Saturday’s game led the camp. Kids attending got a free T-shirt and an invitation to be in the Shrine Parade and be in the halftime performance on Saturday.

One of the members of the East cheerleading team this year is former Great Falls Central offensive and defensive tackle Trevor Yuhas. Fresh off of playing in the Bob Cleverley 8-Man All-Star Game this summer in Butte and preparing to play football for MSU-Northern in the fall, Yuhas says he’s balanced cheerleading with football for the past two years now. His girlfriend, Marina Williams, a member of the Mustangs’ cheer team, helped persuade him to join.

“It’s really fun, I’ve really enjoyed it. I’m a back spot and I just started cheering two years ago. It’s a lot of fun, I picked it up pretty fast. I enjoy it,” said Yuhas. “It’s really cool coming here with people you’ve never met before and just being able to cooperate and work as a group to try and get a stunt up. Even just going alone working with my girlfriend, just a lot of fun, trying new things and hit it.”
