GREAT FALLS — After taking second place last season, both the Bozeman boys and girls dominated the field to sweep the Class AA titles at the MHSA 2020 Swim Meet on Saturday.

The Missoula Hellgate girls took second and Butte took third. For the boys, Great Falls CMR took second and Great Falls High took third. It was the first state trophy for the Bison since 1989.

Butte's Catherine Russo tied her own state record in the girls 50-yard freestyle at 22.76 seconds. Russo, who will swim at Ohio State next year, won state in both the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly for the fourth consecutive year.

The Billings Central girls scored 109 points to win the Class A-B title, 32 points ahead of Whitefish. However, the Whitefish boys cruised to a team championship with 96.5 points, overcoming second-place Hardin's 61 points.
