BUTTE — For Cade Holter, Dylan Sestrich, and Patrick Dolan this weekend’s State A boys basketball tournament will be the final time they will suit up in the Maroon jersey.

Butte Central has had a terrific season that includes a Western A divisional championship and 13-game winning streak earlier in the season. The seniors have been a huge factor in that success both on and off the court. Holter will play in his final state tournament, as his four-year varsity career comes to an end. Leaving it all on the court is his motto, and being able to do it one last time is a bittersweet moment. He reflected about the legacy he wants to be remembered for.

“I think just how much I cared about the game. I’ve given everything. I played as tough as I could, didn’t take plays off. I mean, I grew up a huge Maroon fan, so just to have the opportunity I did, I wanted to give everything I could,” said Holter.

Head coach Brodie Kelly understands no matter the outcome this weekend, the seniors leaving after this season have left their mark on Butte Central basketball.

“Win or lose, I think this is going to be a season we’re all proud of. And looking back on, we’ve had great leadership from all three seniors. Love and respect everything they’ve done for us,” said Kelly.
