BUTTE – The Butte and Bozeman boys basketball teams squared off at the Butte Civic Center on Tuesday. For six Bulldog seniors it would possibly be their final game at the Civic Center in their high school careers.
Bozeman struck first as Ryan Lonergan spotted up wide open on the baseline after some nice ball reversals to get himself open. Butte responded with some defense that led to offense. Kash Kelly tipped a lazy pass and took it coast to coast for the easy two, and then a couple possessions later he found teammate Danny McCloskey, who knocked down the ensuing triple. Bozeman in the end got ahead and never looked back.
The Hawks went on to spoil Butte’s Senior Night taking home the Eastern AA win 61-46. The Bulldogs wrap up the regular season on Friday in Billings when they take on Billings Senior High.
