BILLINGS – Entering Tuesday night’s game with a 4-4 conference mark, positioned fifth out out seven teams in the Eastern AA and recalling a 20-point loss to Billings West earlier this season, Billings Skyview’s basketball guys played more like the second-place Bears on their way to an 18-point blowout win.
The Falcons led by 19 in the first half, and by as many as 21 while cruising to a 70-52 victory. The 70 points are Skyview’s highest of the season.
Julius Mims, who usually starts for Skyview as a junior, came off the bench on Senior Night to score a career-high 21 points, including a fourth quarter dunk. Mims had 12 at halftime.
Zach Schacht scored six points in the first quarter, as Skyview jumped out to a 22-14 lead after one. The Falcons increased it to 41-28 at intermission.
West (9-6, 6-3) would draw to within 10 early in the third quarter but never closer.
Skyview (9-6, 5-4) plays at Butte (3-11, 0-8) on Friday night. West travels to Butte Saturday.
