MISSOULA – A key second-half run was enough to push Missoula Sentinel to another Western AA boys basketball victory, handing Kalispell Glacier a third consecutive setback. The Spartans beat the Wolfpack on Thursday night, 73-66.

Sentinel led 34-31 at halftime. After Glacier briefly tied it up, the Spartans quickly put together a 9-0 run. The spurt included an impressive play, as Tony Frohlich-Fair rejected a Glacier shot on one end and found Jack Colyer ahead for a layup and a foul.

The Spartans’ lead stayed just out of reach for the rest of the contest. Glacier closed within six and had the ball in the final 30 seconds but couldn’t score.

Senior post Scott Malikie led Sentinel with 18 points. Weston Price scored 17 for the Wolfpack.

Sentinel improves to 4-1 in conference and 7-4 overall. The Spartans travel to Kalispell Flathead on Saturday afternoon. Glacier falls to 2-3 in league, 4-7 overall. The Wolfpack host No. 1 Missoula Hellgate on Saturday.
