Helena’s hot start enough to take down Missoula Big Sky on the road

MISSOULA — On Thursday night, the 6-5 Helena Bengals traveled to Missoula to take on the 1-10 Missoula Big Sky Eagles in Western AA boys basketball action.

In the first, it was ugly for the Eagles, as Helena ended the first quarter up 14-3. The Eagles failed to make a field goal in the first quarter, scoring all three points on free throws.

In the second quarter, Big Sky’s Camdyn LaRance came alive and started to hit. The Eagles pulled within seven at the half, 27-20.

To open the second half, Big Sky scored five straight, but Helena answered with a 7-0 run of its own. In the end, Helena hung tough and outlasted the comeback from Big Sky, winning 58-46.
