BUTTE – The defending Class AA boys basketball state champion Great Falls CMR Rustlers traveled to Richardson Gymnasium in Butte for an Eastern AA showdown with the Butte High Bulldogs on Friday.
CMR took a small first-quarter lead behind the strong play of Russell Gagne and never looked back. Butte got the lead down to six with big 3-pointers from Trevyn Roth and Danny McCloskey with 1:15 to go in the game, but that was as close as the Bulldogs would get. CMR held on for a 55-47 win.
