GREAT FALLS – The defending Class AA champion Great Falls CMR boys basketball team was coming off the team’s first loss of the season as the Rustlers hosted Butte on Saturday. The Rustlers returned to form, as the team came away with a 59-40 victory.

Right before halftime, Butte head coach Luke Powers got back-to-back technical fouls for arguing calls with the referees. Powers was tossed from the game and the Bulldogs were forced to play the second half of the game without their head coach.

CM Russell is now 6-1 on the year and will play crosstown rival Great Falls High next on Jan. 10. Butte drops to 1-4 on the season.
