Townsend girls, Manhattan Christian boys pick up wins

CHURCHILL – In a Class B/C battle, Manhattan Christian and Townsend split their doubleheader series on Friday night.

The Lady Bulldogs were dominant in the opening game, winning 54-32. Tavia Rooney led all scorers with 21 points and also picked up nine steals. Her teammate Charlotte Watson followed close behind with 18 points.

Three players tied for a team-high six points for the Lady Eagles, including senior Jillian Frye, who was 2-3 from beyond the arc.

Manhattan Christian got it’s revenge in the boys game, as the Eagles remained perfect (7-0), defeating Townsend 61-38. Caleb Bellach and Josiah Amunrud both had 18 points for the Eagles. Tyson Racht scored a team-high 18 as well for his Bulldogs.
