BILLINGS – Carter Ash finished with a team-high 23 points to help Bozeman steal a 77-71 boys basketball road win at Billings West Thursday night. That included 11-of-12 shooting from the free throw line.

Bozeman appeared to be in control late, holding a 63-50 lead with less than four minutes to play, but Josh Erbacher hit a 3-pointer for West to close within 73-71 with 29 seconds left. That’s when Ash helped ice it with free throws.

Ryan Lonergan tallied 19 points, nine rebounds and five assists for the Hawks.

Cade Tyson led West with 25 points. Jesse Owens added 22, including an acrobatic alley-oop lay-in during the first half.

The Bears play at Billings Senior Friday night at 7 p.m.
