BILLINGS - One Billings high school announced the resignation of it's golf coach on Thursday, while another unveiled the hiring of it's girls tennis coach.

Daniel Charlton becomes the new head girls tennis coach at Billings West, according to a release from Billings Public Schools. Charlton is a graduate of West where he played tennis as well as other activities. His playing career continued at Montana State before graduating in 2015 with a degree in Education. Charlton currently teaches English Language Arts at the Billings Career Center.

"We look forward to working with Daniel as he takes over the girls program at West," said School District 2 activities director Mark Wahl in the release.

Wahl also announced that Jerry Weik is stepping down as head golf coach for boys and girls at Billings Senior. Before stepping down, Weik had held the position since 2016.

"He has done an outstanding job but has decided its time to do other things in the fall," Wahl said.

Weik will continue in his positions as a Health and PE teacher and as head girls track coach for the Broncs.
