Jug Beck Rocky Mountain Classic wraps up action-packed 1st day at Missoula Sentinel

MISSOULA – One of the biggest wrestling tournaments in the region hit the mats at Missoula Sentinel again on Friday. The Jug Beck Rocky Mountain Classic brought 31 teams together for an incredibly competitive competition, including squads from Idaho, Washington and Wyoming.

After three rounds in the winner’s and loser’s bracket, the field was whittled to the semifinals. Wrestling starts again at 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning, with the semifinals scheduled to begin at 10:30. A duel between Providence and North Idaho College will entertain the crowd at 3:00. Then the championship finals take the mat at 4:30.

After hundreds of matches, Mead High School from Spokane, Wash. has taken the lead in the team standings with 124 points. Bozeman and Great Falls High round out the top three.
