BILLINGS – Carrie Carpenter has two straight tournament wins to open the 2018 high school golf season after besting the field Tuesday at the Billings Invite.
The Billings West golfer followed Monday’s 71 at Peter Yegen with a final-round 76 (147) at Lake Hills to hold off Bozeman’s Annika Danenhauer by four (77-74, 151). Bozeman’s girls captured the tournament win totaling 630. West followed at 654. Butte finished third with 709 followed by Skyview at 722 and Laurel at 743.
Bozeman also won the boys team title beating Laurel by two, 594-596. Rounding out the top five were West (631), Senior (661) and Skyview (667). Bozeman’s Jordan Verge took medalist honors shooting rounds of 68-74. Laurel sophomore Carson Hackmann was one stroke back after finishing 66-77.
