GREAT FALLS – The East Team arrived at Memorial Stadium for the first practice on July 14 in preparation for the Montana East-West Shrine football game in Great Falls on July 21.

The players reported around 10 a.m. at the University of Providence. It’s been a while since the East Team has practiced in Great Falls after practicing in Billings the past few years.

“Just getting to know these guys and getting to be on the field with some of these players that play around the state,” said CMR all-star cornerback Damien Nelson. “Getting to know them, see them on film, it’s just amazing. It’s great to play with just a bunch of amazing players out here.”

The team will rotate two-a-day and three-a-day practices all week and also plans to attend the Voyagers game as a group on Monday. Throughout the week it’s just about representing the east side of Montana.

“Just being around the community, just being around and representing Montana, the east side of Montana, wearing that jersey when it comes on Saturday,” said Nelson. “Just doing it for the charity that we’re raising money for. It’s a big deal for us in general and for the city of Great Falls, too.”
