BILLINGS – Whitehall wide receiver Wyatt Alexander made perhaps the catch of the year, as the South defeated the North 25-12 Friday night in the Class B all-star game.

With the North up 12-6 in the third quarter, the South faced a 4th-down-and-goal from the 6-yard line. Huntley Project quarterback Tylan Croy rolled to his right, lofted the ball into a crowd in the back corner of the end zone, and Alexander went up across his body with his right hand to snatch it down for what turned out to be the game-winning touchdown.

Alexander caught another touchdown early in the fourth quarter to put the South up 19-12. Croy finished with four total touchdowns – three passing and one rushing.

Huntley Project’s Keenan Reynolds opened the game’s scoring with a touchdown catch in the first quarter to put the South up 6-0. The North owned the second, as Missoula Loyola quarterback Scott Twite threw two touchdown passes to Florence wide receiver Jethro Thorne.

But the South defense stood tall after halftime, holding the North scoreless over the final 24 minutes.

The South now owns a 16-14 overall lead in the series.
