BOZEMAN – The Manhattan Christian boys and girls track teams swept the District 11C titles at Bozeman High School on Saturday morning. Meanwhile, at the same meet, Harrison won the District 12C boys title, while Twin Bridges took home the girls titles.

Manhattan Christian’s Lincoln Young was unstoppable. The senior won the 100-meter dash, the long jump, the pole vault and the high jump. Young’s teammate, Alex Veltkamp, also won four events: the 200-meter dash, the 400- and 800-meter races, and also helped the Eagles take home the 1,600-meter relay.

In the 12C boys meet, Harrison’s Derik Defrance shined, winning the 800- and 1,600-meter runs, the 300-meter hurdles and was part of the first-place 1,600-meter relay team. In the field events, it was Harrison’s Layne Homner winning the shot put with a throw of 44 feet, 4 3/4 inches and the discus with a toss of 131 feet.

Megan Baush led the way for the Falcons in their girls title run, placing first in the 200 and 400. Kailee Oliverson, who is currently ranked the second-best hurdler in Class C, took first in both the 100 and 300 hurdles. Baush and Oliverson assisted in winning both relay races.
