Linder, Hallock pace Scobey to sweep at District 3C track meet

GLASGOW — Riley Linder and Tia Hallock each won three individual events on Saturday, pacing Scobey to a sweep of the team titles at the District 3C track and field invite.

Hallock’s wins came in the 100-meter dash (13.83 seconds), 100-meter hurdles (16.88) and javelin (110 feet). She also earned runner-up honors in the 300 hurdles, clocking a 50.19. Hallock ranks in the top 10 in Class C in the 100, as well as the 100- and 300-meter hurdles.

Scobey scored 175 points, compared to the Hinsdale girls’ runner-up finish at 90 points. Saco finished third with 72.

Scobey freshman Gracee Lekvold added a pair of wins in the 800- and 1,600-meter runs, taking the blue ribbon in 2:32.03 and 5:42.85, respectively. Lekvold sits fourth in the 1,600 and seventh in the 800 in Class C this spring. The Spartans won all three sprinting events, with Taylor Leischner winning the 200 (29.84) and Kortney Nelson taking the 400 (1:06.63) to go with Hallock’s win in the 100.

Kassidy Dahl’s high jump of 4 feet, 8 inches landed her atop the district podium. Scobey also won both relays.

Hinsdale freshman Kaitlyn McColly paced the Raiders’ runner-up efforts with wins in the long jump (15 feet, 3 1/2 inches), triple jump (32-06 1/2) and 300 hurdles (48.6). McColly scored 30 of the team’s 90 points.

Saco’s Bailey Funk won the pole vault, clearing 9 feet, while Nashua’s Taylor Laumeyer took the shot put and discus titles. Laumeyer threw 38-02 in the shot and 106-03 in the discus.

Linder helped the Scobey boys to an incredible 271.5 points, winning the 100-meter dash (12.05), 110-meter high hurdles (16.52) and 300 hurdles (41.17). He added a runner-up effort in the javelin, throwing a personal-best 158-11, and ran the opening leg of the Spartan’s 400-meter relay. Linder’s PR of 40.81 in the 300 hurdles is the fastest time in Class C this season.

Linder’s teammate, senior CJ Nelson, won the javelin with a heave of 160-06, while Scobey placed third and fourth in the event with Tucker Gaustad and Jeremy Handy reaching the podium. Nelson also won the pole vault (10 feet), finished third in the triple jump and added a fourth-place finish in the discus.

Other Scobey winners included Ethan Anderson in the long jump, Brandon Machart in the 200 and Martin Farver in the 400. Carver owns Class C’s fourth-fastest time in the 400 this season.

Frazer edged Hinsdale for second-place efforts in the team race, with junior Wyatt Miller winning the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs. He placed third in the 800.
