BILLINGS – The Midland Roundtable will announce its Athlete of the Year winners chosen among graduating seniors in Billings on May 16.

Brock Bushfield certainly made his case as a two-sport standout at Skyview.

Bushfield, with three years of varsity football experience, was an all-state quarterback and safety for the Falcons. That led to a football scholarship at Rocky Mountain College.

He was also a four-year varsity wrestler at Skyview, closing his career as a two-time State AA champion at 152 pounds — payoff for starting at a young age. Bushfield distinctly remembers his first youth wrestling match at age 4.

“We had a tournament in Shepherd, and my mom and dad went on vacation,” he recalled. “So my dad wasn’t there, and I think I was with my grandpa. I think I got first and everyone was super excited. Then I just got pounded on the rest of the year.”

But Bushfield didn’t get pounded for long. He still has some of his hardware collection through the years on display.

“I’ve got all the little medals and stuff,” he smiled.
