Central B/C tennis divisional wraps up in Great Falls

GREAT FALLS — The Central B/C tennis divisional wrapped up at Meadowlark Country Club in Great Falls on Wednesday after crowning girls singles and double champions. The event featured athletes from Fairfield, Fort Benton, Simms and Valier.

In the doubles championship, Fort Benton’s Katie Giles and Megan Clark downed the Simms duo of Maddie Bloom and Brianna Widhalm to claim the top seed in the Central division at next week’s State B-C tournament.

Players from Fairfield swept the top four spots in the singles competition with Emily Clotfelter downing teammate Naemi Wipf 6-3, 6-4 in the final.

The state tournament begins May 17 and runs through May 19 at venues across Great Falls.
