Corvallis boys, girls sweep Florence/Darby Invitational

CORVALLIS – The Florence/Darby Invitational took place on Tuesday at the Corvallis Community Events Center in Corvallis. Dillon sophomore Tylia DeJohn set a new top mark in the state for the 100-meter dash, clocking in at a blazing 12.74 seconds. DeJohn also won the 200 in 27.02, but came up just short of the Class A qualifying mark of 27.0.

Hannah Hutchison of Corvallis and Morgan Radtke of Drummond both cleared 5 feet, 2 inches in the high jump and qualified for their respective Class A and Class C state track and field meets. Hutchison and Radtke are the Class A and Class C leaders in the event. Twin Bridges’ Kailee Oliverson ran a state-best 47.73 in the 300 hurdles.

Florence’s Jethro Thorne, who has already qualified for the Class B state track and field meet in the 100, swept the sprints, winning the 100, 200 and 400. Corvallis standout Ridge Albright lept a Class A-best 6-05 in the high jump, qualifying for the State A track and field meet in the process.
