Helena High softball puts up a pair of lopsided wins over Hellgate

HELENA – With the weather finally felling good enough to stay outside for a long stretch of time Helena High softball hosted Hellgate for a doubleheader Tuesday afternoon.

The Bengals dominated in game one, dispatching the Knights 18-1 after a nine run first inning.

Vannessa Walsh had four RBI’s on four hits and Maddie English dominated on the mound striking out 11 batters in five innings.

It was a similar story with Helena High winning 20-3. With 17 of those runs coming in the first three innings.

This time it was English earning her keep at the plate with seven RBIs on two hits. Kali Anderson wasn’t too far behind her with six RBIs while going four for four at the plate.

Tyleigh Burchard struck out seven in five innings pitched for the Bengals.

Helena High’s next game is Wednesday, April 11th at Great Falls against Great Falls High and C.M. Russell.

Hellgate will host Missoula Sentinel on Thursday, April 12th.
