BOZEMAN — Bozeman High’s Robbie Simpson was one of the top talents in Class AA basketball this winter. He’s now taking those talents to the next level.
Simpson announced early on Sunday that he had verbally committed to playing basketball at Eastern Oregon University next season. The point guard helped lead the Hawks to a third consecutive state championship game.
He joins a Mountaineers squad that finished 21-8 last season and 13-7 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, good for fourth place. The sharpshooter will join a team that already ranked in the top 50 of NAIA’s Division II in three point shooting.
Simpson is the second Hawk to commit to playing college basketball. His teammate, Mack Anderson, committed to play hoops at the University of Montana.
