GREAT FALLS – Snow and low temperatures in the forecast have led the Great Falls School district to cancel Friday’s pre-season softball jamboree.
The annual Great Falls softball jamboree was set to feature all 14 Class AA teams plus Havre and Laurel from Class A. Rain and thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon, shifting to snow in the evening hours with temperatures dropping well below freezing.
Each team was scheduled to play four five-inning exhibition games across all eight fields at the Multi-Sports complex. The jamboree will not be rescheduled.
The host teams, Great Falls CMR and Great Falls High, will now open the season at home with a doubleheader against Helena High and Helena Capital on Tuesday, April 3 at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
