Missoula Sentinel paces girls all-state teams; Helena schools, Bozeman, Billings West land 2

HELENA — Class AA runner-up Missoula Sentinel landed a state-high three athletes on the girls basketball all-state teams. The honors, voted on by league coaches, were released on Monday.

Seniors Jordyn Schweyen and Kylie Frohlich joined junior Shelby Schweyen as all-state selections for Karen Deden’s Spartans. All three are Montana Grizzly commits. Sentinel fell 53-49 to Helena High in Saturday’s state championship game, where Helena High’s Kamden Hilborn and Jamie Pickens shared the MVP honors. Each was named all-state on Monday.

Helena Capital’s Taylor Sullivan and Sydney Sheridan earned all-state honors in the Western AA. The Bruins placed fourth in the weekend’s state tournament. Bozeman and Billings West also added a pair of all-state athletes — Alex Carey and Ayla Embry for Bozeman, Shayla Montague and TyLee Manuel for Billings West.
