Western AA Boys: Helena, Hellgate, Glacier advance

HELENA – The first day of the Western AA boys basketball divisional tournament at Helena High gave fans a night of pretty good postseason basketball.

In the first game, Kalispell Glacier defeated Helena Capital 51-36 led by Brec Rademacher’s 21 points, four rebounds and one assist.

Game 2 of the night saw rivals Missoula Hellgate and Missoula Big Sky duke it out, with the Knights edging out the Eagles 58-48. Hellgate’s Rollie Worster was the game’s top scorer with 18 points, six rebounds and five assists.

The final game of the night came down to host Helena High and Kalispell Flathead, with the Bengals winning in front of their home fans 60-55 to advance to the semifinals Friday night against Hellgate. Connor Murgel led Helena with 16 points, but the game’s top scorer was Tyler Johnson with 20. Flathead’s Sam Elliot led all rebounders with nine.
