BILLINGS – The boys basketball teams from Great Falls are limping into the postseason.

Great Falls CMR lost for the second straight day Saturday afternoon to Billings Senior, while Great Falls High fell to Billings West on the final day of the Class AA regular season.

The losses mean both teams finish 9-3 atop the Eastern AA, with CMR earning the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Eastern AA divisional thanks to a tiebreaker.

The Rustlers pulled within 21-19 of Senior midway through the second quarter, but the Broncs closed the half on a 15-4 run. CMR cut the deficit the 49-46 after three quarters, but could never overtake Senior.

Great Falls jumped out to a 13-9 lead after the first quarter, but West rallied to sweep the weekend series against their Electric City opponents.

West and Senior both finish at 6-6 in the Eastern AA. They will play each other in the first round of the divisional Thursday at 5:00 p.m.

Billings Skyview’s boys finished one game back at 5-7, and will open against Bozeman at 6:30 p.m.

Class AA will hold divisional tournaments this year instead of a playoff system. The Eastern AA will be held at Butte High and Montana Tech from March 1-3.
