HELENA — Rollie Worster scored 28 points and grabbed eight rebounds as No. 4 Missoula Hellgate trounced Helena High 56-34 in Western AA boys basketball action on Thursday.

Worster, the Montana Grizzly commit, paced the Knights to a 10-point lead after the opening quarter and 34-11 lead at halftime. Hellgate’s length and pressure defense were too much for the young Bengals to handle on Senior Night.

The home team honored Dawson Tedesco, Caleb Ferguson and Josiah Shelley pregame, but not even the emotions of the final regular-season home game were enough to lift Helena High (4-14 overall, 1-10 in Western AA).

Hellgate has won three straight games and eight of its past nine heading into Saturday’s regular-season finale, a home contest against Helena Capital. The Knights (13-4, 9-2) are one game behind league-leading Missoula Sentinel entering the final two days of the conference schedule.

Hellgate returns to Helena next weekend for the Western AA divisional tournament. The top four teams will advance to the state tournament in Billings on March 8-10.
