Bozeman girls prevail in overtime against Butte

BUTTE – It took overtime, but the Bozeman Hawks girls basketball team got a much-needed conference victory over Butte Tuesday night, 59-49.

Bozeman’s Alex Carey tied the game at 49 with just 15 seconds left in regulation. The Bulldogs missed the ensuing attempt as time expired, sending the game to the extra stanza. Bozeman held Butte scoreless in overtime to hang on for the win.

Ayla Embry led Bozeman with 18 points and Angelle Diamond added 16.

Bozeman improves to 7-10 (5-6 conference) while Butte drops to 6-11 (3-8).
