GREAT FALLS – If there were any doubt who the top teams in the Eastern AA standings were, they were put to rest this weekend.

Both Great Falls High and Great Falls CMR completed the sweep of Billings Skyview and Bozeman on Saturday to cement their position as the top dogs in the conference.

Kendall Kynett scored 27 points Saturday against Skyview, as the Bison held off a late Falcons rally for a 54-46 win.

Kynett and senior Blake Thelen scored all 16 Bison points in the fourth quarter. Great Falls High led 32-13 at half but Skyview cut the lead to 42-38 in the fourth quarter before two buckets from Kynett made it an eight point lead.

Across town, the CMR boys won their ninth straight game in a 71-62 victory over Bozeman.

Sam Vining scored 18 points, including four three pointers and Kyle Byrne score a career high 16. Jake Olsen scored 15 and Russell Gange 11 to make it four Rustlers in double figures.

Tyler Dobie scored 14 points to lead the Hawks.
