Seeley-Swan boys pull away from Darby for District 13C championship

FRENCHTOWN — The Seeley-Swan boys basketball team methodically pulled away from Darby for the District 13C championship on Saturday.

The Blackhawks built a 13-6 lead by the end of the first quarter and gradually extended the lead throughout the rest of the game to put away the Tigers. Keaton Johsnon scored 11 points to lead a balanced Seeley-Swan scoring attack. Cameron Haines and Avery Smith each added 10 points, Cordell Turner scored eight, Chance Johnson seven and Hunter Shelmerdine two.

Darby was led by Nelson Smith’s 13 points.

The Tigers will now face Alberton-Superior in a challenge game on Monday. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.

With the win, Seeley-Swan advances to the Western C divisional tournament where it will face Plains in the first round.
